The Mets revamped bullpen squandered the lead and gave up a walk-off single to Jorge Cantu to seal the win for the Marlins.
Jeremy Reed tied things up with a pinch-hit single in the ninth inning.
John Maine looked decent but didn’t last long. I’d have to categorize this outing as “encouraging”.
Hanley Ramirez is REALLY good.
Who is this Bonifacio kid? He’s definitely helping fantasy owners dominate during the early part of the season. The kid is hitting .579, 9 Runs, 4 RBIs and 4 SBs. Did I mention he also has an inside-the-park home run? If you need steals in your fantasy baseball league (and who doesn’t) you may want to consider this kid heading into weekend transactions.
The Mets bullpen has been abused early on. They’ve been forced to get at least 10 outs in every game thus far.
Ricky Nolasco vs. Livan Hernandez tomorrow — that just sounds AWFUL!
Did I mention that Pedro Martinez is still a free agent?
If Anibal Sanchez is healthy this year for the Marlins they might have one of the best young staff’s in all of baseball. Really sucks they are in the NL East.
I am starting to have a man-crush on Daniel Murphy.
The Marlins are 4-0 and the Mets are 2-2.
Dan Uggla is starting to warm up.
I’d like to be optimistic about our chances tomorrow but I absolutely despise the fact that Livan Hernandez is going to be taking the mound for the Mets. It’s simply inconceivable.
I’m crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. Let’s hope our offense explodes.
